Plans are almost complete for the District's Bournemouth Conference on 24 -
26 September. This is set in the acclaimed Bournemouth International Conference Centre (BIC), where we shall have the plenary sessions in the Tregonwell Hall, the House of Friendship in the Purbeck Bar and Lounge, and the Saturday Dinner/Dance in the Purbeck Hall. Friday night entertainment from 9pm is also planned - more detail later.
Key speakers this year include Diana Moran, the Green goddess, John Suchet and comedian Roy Walker. Registration forms have been given to incoming presidents at PETS, but these are also available on this page, along with the forms for the Golf Tournament on the Friday. To book hotel rooms away from the HQ hotel (Highcliffe Marriott) please log onto the BIC's Hotel booking service via the link below.
This year Bournemouth celebrates its bi-centenary, and they are really pulling out all the stops for Rotary and Inner Wheel; RIBI, IW and D1070 are all having conferences there this year. The weather in September is usually very pleasant and the resort has miles of sandy beaches and amenities. DGE Roger and I look forward to seeing as many of you as can come in September.
Andy Roberts, Conference Manager.
| If clubs want to reserve rooms now at the HQ hotel (the Highcliffe Marriott Hotel) please give indication of numbers to Rtn Jim Kearns (Rotary Club of Rushden) and we will allocate on a 'first come, first served' basis. Please do not contact the hotel direct - they are instructed not to take bookings from clubs for that weekend. |
