The  range of programmes for students and youth offered by the clubs of  Rotary District 1070  can change the lives of those who participate.

Through these programmes and competitions, young people can earn scholarships, travel on cultural exchanges, or help a community through a service project.

Rotary competitions are designed to enable young people to demonstrate and develop their skills and talents and to build their levels of self confidence and life skills.

The programmes and competitions take place at local, regional, national and international levels.

A summary of the programmes are shown in the Youth Services handbook with full details shown on the individual web pages. Just click on the appropriate link  to see some of what Rotary has to offer.

Youth Services Handbook updated November 2017 – Changes to RYLA Dates

Young RYLA

Thank you to the Clubs who have shown an interest in Young RYLA.  Due to the overwhelming uptake which has exceeded expectation and despite increasing the number of places, these are taken and now I can offer only places on the reserve list.” – Maureen Gariff  4th Oct 2017

Young Scientists of the Year for Primary Schools

Some of you will have heard the enthusiasm of Judith Green of the Ogden Trust speaking at the District Conference concerning the successful partnership with the Rotary Club of Market Harborough and Primary Schools. Participating schools selected teams of four students; two from year 4 and two from year 5 to undertake science challenges supervised by an adult (teacher or Rotarian). We are exploring the possibility of other Clubs participating with a commitment (which could be with Clubs working together) of seed funding to purchase equipment and annual funding to provide trophies etc; and Rotarians to help run the competition and present trophies and certificates. Please e-mail [email protected] if you would like further details. 8th Nov 2017
