The Engineering Young Entrepreneurs Scheme

Engineering YES is a business plan competition and training scheme seeking to help university engineering research students take their ideas into the marketplace. The competition involves three days of intensive residential workshops where researchers recieve training and mentoring from industry experts away from their workplaces. They work in teams to present business plans for fictitious opportunities to a panel of judges. The top two teams from each workshop go head to head in a one-day final.

Rotarians can be involved by:

  • Mentoring
  • Providing Speakers
  • General help – meeting and greeting, photography, liaison with venues
  • Encouraging more universities to participate
  • Expand the number of venues
  • Help secure sponsorship
  • Sponsor teams or prizes
